Privacy policy

DharmaSaathi (operated by Dharma Next) is a matrimonial introduction service. This policy describes what we collect, why, who sees it, and the rights you hold under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The short version: your data exists to find you a spouse, not to be sold — and your conversations are never visible to anyone but the two of you.

What we collect, and why

• Identity and contact: name, email and/or phone, city — to create your account, sign you in with one-time codes, and reach you about your own search.
• Profile details: date of birth, education, profession, spiritual path, practices, diet, family values, your "about" text, photos, and an optional voice introduction — shown to the people we introduce you to, and to family members you invite.
• Spiritual affiliation: the platform exists to match by practice and path, so this is collected with your explicit consent at signup. It is used only for matching and display to your matches and invited family.
• Birth details (place and time): used only to compute kundli matching, with your consent, through DivineAPI, a third-party astrology service that receives birth details but no contact information.
• Verification evidence: if you choose to verify, your Aadhaar image, selfie, or community referee details — reviewed by a human, stored privately, never shown to other members (only the resulting trust level is shown).
• Messages, voice notes, and reflections inside a Parichay — visible only to the two participants. Never to family, never to admins in the ordinary course, never used for advertising.
• Payment records: processed by Razorpay. We store what was bought and the order reference; we never see or store card, UPI, or bank details.

Who processes data on our behalf

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Razorpay — payments.
• DivineAPI — kundli computation (receives birth details only).
• Resend — transactional email; Interakt / WhatsApp Business — sign-in codes and notifications on WhatsApp, if you use a phone number.
• Anthropic — powers Saarthi, the AI advisor. When you use Saarthi, your own profile and your messages to it are processed to generate replies. Saarthi never receives another member's private data.
• Jitsi — in-app video calls run on Jitsi infrastructure with unguessable room links; we store no recordings.

What family members see

The Parivar dashboard is transparency, not surveillance. Family members you invite see your profile, suggestions they have made, the stage of a Parichay once it reaches the family-introduction stage, and weekly counts. They never see your messages, voice notes, video calls, or private reflections.

What other members see

People we introduce you to see your profile as you wrote it, your photos, your trust level, and the compatibility information the product computes. Your contact details are never shown; conversations happen inside the platform until you choose otherwise.

Retention

Your data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your profile, personal data is removed within 30 days, except payment records we must keep under tax law and records needed to handle an open dispute. Verification evidence is deleted once reviewed, within 90 days at most.

Your rights

• Access and correction: view your profile any time; edit it from your account (edits go through review again).
• Erasure: delete your profile from your account, or write to us and we will do it.
• Consent withdrawal: pause your profile to stop new introductions instantly; withdraw kundli consent by removing your birth details.
• Grievance: our grievance officer and timelines are on the Grievance page. If unsatisfied, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is controlled by row-level security so members can only read what is theirs to read, photos and voice notes live in private storage with expiring links, and admin access is limited and logged. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you promptly and plainly.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, no selling of data to anyone, ever.
